Things to note

  • Reservations are required for every campsite.
  • Different campsites are run by different companies. You will have to visit each separate website to book your campsite in advance. Vertice (www.verticepatagonia.com) Fantastico Sur (www.fantasticosur.com) CONAF (www.conaf.cl)
  • You can drink water straight from streams, rivers, and lakes within the park. We didn’t use any water purification methods and we were fine.
  • Mice are particularly bad at Camp Seron. Bring a dry bag and Tupperware to keep mice out of your food. Don’t bring your food into your tent. We heard a couple parties had mice chew into their tents. I had mice chew into my bag twice.
  • There is a shuttle bus that you can catch from Los Torres Hotel to Laguna Amarga between 1:30-2pm.
  • We quickly realized that all the signs along the trail were inaccurate. The scale for elevation on the maps is way off.
